Welcome to our 31st Season!
A note from the Director
As we enter our 31st season--our fourth decade!--I continue to remark on what an incredible achievement it is for a community to maintain a classical chamber music series for such a long time. You, our audience, are at the core of the success of this series, and I thank you for helping to make St. Paul’s and Delray Beach a home for classical music.
The 2018-2019 Season is a big one, and here are a few highlights: Towards the beginning and end of our season, we feature two concerto performances with string quartet--Chopin’s First Piano Concerto on September 16 and Górecki’s Harpsichord Concerto on April 28. Vocalists are also included this year, with three Jewish cantors on November 18, Russian baritone Anton Belov on February 10, and American soprano Emily Carter on March 24. We welcome woodwinds to our series, with some klezmer on the November 18 cantorial concert, a guitar and flute duo on December 16, and a woodwind trio on June 16. Along with our diverse list of soloists and ensembles, St. Paul’s will present Choral Evensong services, including a Bach Cantata Evensong on March 3. The 2018-2019 season also welcomes the return of our camera-and-screen technology, allowing you to see up close wherever you sit!
Join us this season for chamber music, opera, concertos, cantatas, sonatas, and waltzes. I’ll be there, and I hope you will too. Better yet, bring a friend and spread word!
